Ralph Sydney Cuddeford

Ralph was born in 1892 in Urangeline NSW.Ralph's mother and father were Edward and Mary Jane Cuddeford and had two brothers Edgar Lewis and Norman Dixon. Ralph Cuddeford enlisted in Holsworthy on the 4th July 1915 and embarked on the RMS Mooltan ship on the 11th December 1915. Ralph was a private and served with the 1st Battalion on the Western Front. Although Ralph did not receive any military honours Ralph is recorded on two rolls of honour, Wentworthville School of Arts Roll of Honour and the Blacktown Soldiers Memorial. Private Cuddeford was killed in action at Pozieres, France on the 23rd of July 1916 and has no known grave but is remembered on the National Memorial for the Missing in Villers-Bretonneux. Ralph Sydney Cuddeford was a student of St John's Grammar School, Parramatta Grammar School and Albury Grammar School. Ralph's brothers also enlisted to go enter the Australian Army.
