"...2148 Private Alfred Garfield Hawkins, 4th Reinforcements, 24th Battalion, of East Malvern, Vic. Pte Hawkins enlisted on 10 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Hororata on 27 September 1915. He was killed in action on 6 August 1916 at Pozieres, France. His brother, Lieutenant Douglas Herbert Hawkins, 14th Battalion, also served in the AIF." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
