Description

A polished faced granite boulder mounted on its edge on a base granite boulder. On the top face are two bronze castings. One is in the shape of a circular twisted ribband that surrounds the inner, which is a round bronze plate; in the centre of the plate is a cross. At each end of the cross is the figurehead of a member of the Women's Defence Forces. In the centre is a figurehead of a military nursing sister. An inscription is at the top and bottom of the ribband. On the lower boulder is a bronze plaque; at the back of the monument is a bronze plaque.
